On 16 November 2020 at 3 pm CET, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are organising a high-level event on "Environment and trade for a sustainable and inclusive recovery from COVID-19". 

The event will gather leaders from across the world to identify tangible actions for a sustainable, resilient and inclusive trade. 

The following topics will be discussed: 

  • What opportunities exist to use trade policies as catalysts for a green and sustainable economic transition and recovery?
  • How can we make global supply chains green and more resilient?
  • How can trade better contribute to conservation and the sustainable use of nature?
  • How can we break down silos to ensure that trade plays a full role in building back greener and better?
