The organization supports the growth and sustainable development of its members through the promotion of the global market and the automotive and auto parts manufacturing sector in Mexico.

Based on the relevance of the sector and the companies that comprise it, the association seeks to achieve fair representation before: the authorities (with special emphasis on the federal government), the automotive industry, academia and society, in order to promote the growth and development of the auto parts industry in Mexico.

With the negotiation of the first edition of the 1962 Automotive Decree, the pioneering auto parts manufacturing companies saw the need to unite in order to have meaningful representation of their interests before Mexican government authorities.
Thus, the National Association of Automotive Manufacturers was institutionalized on August 19, 1961. Subsequently, on June 23, 1981, the name of this association changed to what it is known today: Industria Nacional de Autopartes, A.C.
